“The Sipi Falls Wash station gets its name from the iconic triple waterfall nearby, flowing down the steep base of the volcano Mt Elgon. It is a beacon of light in a war-torn area, created with the goal of mentoring field officers in aspects of climate change, tree inventory, agricultural practices, and understanding their internal control systems of operations. This wash station focuses on highlighting the specific micro-climate of that area and it’s impact on the coffee flavor.

Cafe Kreyol’s partner, Homage Coffee Source, is utilizing the processing station’s abilities, and combining it with small producer microlots from the surrounding area, to bring higher income to the exceptional coffee farmers of Uganda. “

Juste Picasso Nduwayo

Manager of the Washing Station, Juste likes to do a double fermentation on these coffees, with 24 hrs in the coffee cherries, and another 14 hrs depulped. This brings out high levels of sweetness with balanced acidity.
