APCAB has a total of 680 growers, and their coffee is known for being smooth and creamy. The cooperative is paid roughly 300% higher wages than the Fair Trade minimum, not out of charity, but for having an exceptional product.
Hencito is 31 years old and just had a daughter. He has taken an enormous interest in improving Haitian coffee in the international specialty industry, and works directly with each of APCAB’S processing centers on fermentations, sustainability, and quality management. Due to Hencito’s recent work, coffee from this cooperative just earned a 90 point score from Coffee Review.
