Nestled in the mountains just south of Cap Haitian, this is the oldest running cooperative in all of Haiti. COOPACVOD has over 850 members and workers and produces the only organic certified, arabica blue mountain coffee in all of Haiti.
The lightest of all three of our Haitian Blue coffees, yet extraordinarily low in acid!
Grown at a high altitude of Haiti’s tropical mountain region. This is the same varietal as Jamaican Blue Mountain, and Cafe Kreyol is utilizing it to create sustainable employment in Haiti. This roast imparts notes of almonds and butter and has a smooth low acid finish, typical of island profile coffees.
We serve whole bean coffee for maximum quality and freshness.
We believe farmers should get paid based on the quality of their product and we practice this belief by paying up to 300% higher wages than what Fair Trade requires.
This Direct Trade system, that is now the backbone of Cafe Kreyol, believes that quality and sustainability are parallel.
Our story continues as we work to alleviate poverty in rural coffee growing regions, one cup at a time.
