Green (Unroasted) Dominican Republic - Sampler Pack (5 x 1 lb bags)

$29.99

THE DETAILS

Try coffee grown and processed by our good friends at the Ramirez Estate and taste the different flavor profiles that we helped develop. From smooth and creamy to bright and fruity, this selection of specialty coffee is a great way to get to know the effect of a variety of process techniques!

The Dominican Republic Sampler Includes:

1 lb Organic Washed – Mellow, smooth and creamy body. Notes of Almonds that round off to a sweet vanilla soymilk finish. Suggested Roast Level: Versatile (Light-Dark)

1 lb Organic Washed Peaberry – These bean anomalies are sorted out of the standard coffee since they roast at different rates than regular beans. Their smaller denser size contribute to brighter acidity and more complex flavors. They produce a smooth and creamy body that rounds off to a sweet orange cream in the finish. Level: Medium-Dark

1 lb Organic Red Honey – We have been working in collaboration with the Ramirez Estate to create this red honey process. With balanced stone fruit and pomegranate notes, this will impress any island coffee lovers out there.  Suggested Roast Level: Light-Medium

1 lb Aged Natural – Another collaboration effort with the Ramirez Estate. This natural processed coffee is partially fermented to bring out stellar strawberry fruit notes. This coffee is sure to impress coffee buffs everywhere. Suggested Roast Level: Light-Medium

1 lb Barahona Washed – This coffee from a nearby region is close in proximity yet unique in its flavor. It has medium acidity with notes of cream, and nuts. Suggested Roast Level: Medium-Dark

Social Responsabily

Creates sustainable employment for farming families in , farmers are paid above fair trade standards for their exceptional crop

MEET THE FARMER

This family-owned estate is extraordinarily socially conscious. They use fermented coffee cherries to create natural gas, which partially powers their operation. They also donate books and computers to the local schools, and in a more rural area, they built and funded a new school preventing small children from having to walk over 15 km each way to class. They also help Haitians obtain legal residence in the Dominican Republic, in order to receive fair wages. We pay roughly 300% higher wages to this Estate for their exceptional care of the environment, organic certification, care for local Haitian immigrants, and high cupping scores.

WHY CAFE KREYOL?

We believe farmers should get paid based on the quality of their product and we practice this belief by paying up to 300% higher wages than what Fair Trade requires.

This Direct Trade system, that is now the backbone of Cafe Kreyol, believes that quality and sustainability are parallel.

Our story continues as we work to alleviate poverty in rural coffee growing regions, one cup at a time.
