THE DETAILS

Try coffee grown and/ or processed by our good friends at the Ramirez Estate and taste the different flavor profiles that were developed alongside Cafe Kreyol’s team of post harvest process technicians. From smooth and creamy to bright and fruity, this selection of specialty coffee is one of our most diverse sampler packs, and a great way to get to know the effect of a variety of process techniques on a single estate!

The Dominican Republic Sampler Includes:

1 lb Organic Washed Ramirez Estate – Mellow, smooth and creamy body. Notes of Almonds that round off to a sweet vanilla soymilk finish. Suggested Roast Level: Versatile (Light-Dark)

1 lb Natural Processed Ramirez Estate – This natural processed coffee is fermented for 24 hours before drying on raised beds, bringing out fruit forward notes and berry flavors. Suggested Roast Level: Light-Medium

1 lb Organic Red Honey Processed Ramirez Estate – Balanced stone fruit notes and juicy pomegranate acidity.  Suggested Roast Level: Light-Medium

1 lb Ramirez Estate Peaberry – Mellow, smooth and creamy body. Notes of Almonds that round off to a sweet vanilla soymilk finish. Peaberry has notes of sweet orange cream in the finish.

1 lb Barahona Washed – This coffee is also known by the old school coffee professionals as Santo Domingo. Social Responsibility

Creates sustainable employment for farming families in , farmers are paid above fair trade standards for their exceptional crop

MEET THE FARMER

This family-owned estate is extraordinarily socially conscious. They use fermented coffee cherries to create natural gas, which partially powers their operation. They also donate books and computers to the local schools, and in a more rural area, they built and funded a new school preventing small children from having to walk over 15 km each way to class. They also help Haitians obtain legal residence in the Dominican Republic, in order to receive fair wages. We pay roughly 300% higher wages to this Estate for their exceptional care of the environment, organic certification, care for local Haitian immigrants, and high cupping scores.

WHY CAFE KREYOL?

We believe farmers should get paid based on the quality of their product and we practice this belief by paying up to 300% higher wages than what Fair Trade requires.

This Direct Trade system, that is now the backbone of Cafe Kreyol, believes that quality and sustainability are parallel.

Our story continues as we work to alleviate poverty in rural coffee growing regions, one cup at a time.
