Awarded 1st Place by Cup of Excellence Honduras — recognizing it as the very best coffee among hundreds of entries as judged by the Honduran National Jury and an International Jury of experts — this natural processed Pacamara variety boasts a juicy, complex melody of grape, blueberry, Lychee, and apricot notes, with a phenomenal, sparkling mouthfeel much like a grape soda.
From the Pino de Oro farm in the mountains of Santa Barbara, Honduras, this fruit-forward delight masquerades as an anaerobic coffee. But in fact, it’s Pacamara, one of the wildest-tasting varieties of arabica that exists, processed to perfection by a producer at origin who’s mastered their craft.

This breathtaking nanolot must be tried to be believed. Finca Calani in San Jose, Bolivia produces just one hundred pounds of this natural process treasure each year, and we’re bringing it exclusively to you. Winner of the 2021 Bolivia Presidential Cup, our light roast packs a bright burst of grape with complementing strawberry and juicy lychee flavors that linger on the tongue, and on your mind.
Geisha Spirit

This experimental yellow honey process from Tolima, Colombia is the coffee that helped make us famous. Winner of the 2022 Golden Bean North America Silver Medal, this anaerobic gem was part of our submission that won us Roast Magazine’s 2023 Roaster of the Year. Featuring notes of delicate rose water and jasmine acidity that round off to a fruit juice burst in the finish, this nanolot is especially close to our hearts, and is a proud permanent fixture of our Competition Series.

Newest Competition Series Release

Check out our newest releases, both from the 2024 Cup of Excellence Mexico. Xilontla Geisha, a true standout that placed 4th in the Naturals category and El Rio Extended Fermentation that earned 9th in the Experimental category, among hundreds of entries from one of the world’s most famous origins. This coffee promises a unique flavor experience that we’re thrilled to share with you in 2025.
In the other hemisphere, our partner Basha Bekele from Sidama, Ethiopia was recently awarded 1st place in Cup of Excellence Ethiopia with his Variety 74158, which won the highest price-per-pound ever commanded at auction by an Ethiopian coffee. His achievement is a testament to the incredible quality of coffee coming out of Ethiopia, and to the skill and value of our partnerships. We couldn’t be prouder of Basha, and we cannot wait to share his success with you.
Committed to Excellence and Those Who Produce It
Our involvement in the coffee world goes beyond working with producers at origin and roasting at our northern Virginia facilities.
I’m honored to have been recently asked to join one of the committees at the Cup of Excellence, where we’re working to elevate the standards of coffee evaluation and support farmers. We actively participate in international tournaments, judging and bidding on exceptional coffees, ensuring that these talented farmers receive the recognition and compensation they deserve.
It’s (Bidding) Party Time
In the new year, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of “bidding parties” at our new facility. These fun and entertaining events will feature cuppings of international winners and live, real-time auctions that create an exciting platform for local roasters and buyers to come together, bid and go in on lots together, and take home some seriously special coffees.
